Who We Are

A Big Project is comprised of individuals from nearly every region of the world who have chosen to volunteer their time as Fire-starters (project organizers). We are a non-political project seeking to build on the wind of change for the greater good. We are activists, executives, students, receptionists, artists, scientists, sex workers, lawyers, drivers, teachers, small business owners and people who are unemployed. Regardless of our wide range of political, religious and philosophical perspectives, we are coming together around a common belief that our world can be better than it currently is, and that we have the power to support positive change simply by starting the conversation.

Lillian Nanteza

(Kampala, Uganda) Resource Outreach Team. We are the change we want to see in the world. No change shall take place without efforts to find solutions to the problems affecting our lives, communities or countries and the world at large.

Griselda Vega

(Brooklyn, USA) Translation and Network Team. I expect that we will have much more in common than we think, and to see those common ideas come together in such a universal and transversal language such as art and music will be very impactful.

Alex Strazzanti

(Seattle, USA) Social Media Team. Our vision of what is possible for our future has been limited. But if we work together, we can move our world community in a direction of peace, prosperity and compassion for one another.

Andreina Gril

(Caracas, Venezuela) Translation Team. The project joins people from all around the world to look for answers, and all opinions count, no matter where they come from. Creating a better world is about making a habit of small changes that can have cumulative results.

Shannon M. Trilli

(Austin, USA) Resource Outreach Team. There is more good, love and positive creativity in the world than bad. I hope we see how beautiful life is, in its own simple expressions, despite the seismic changes and challenges that continue to happen all around us.

(Pune, India) Central Support and Coordination Team. In every part of this earth, humans are suffering due to various reasons. I hope that a big project helps each of us realize the importance of our lives and the causes of our sufferings.

(Kiel, Germany) Translation Team. I am interested in making some difference in this more and more globalized and in some way “lost” world.

(Karachi, Pakistan) Art Explosion Team. The project chooses the most effective mediums - art and music - to promote an idea that this world can be a much better place than it is.

(Portland, USA) Central Support and Coordination Team. This project inspires our collective imagination of what could be a better world and that is the precursor that will get us there.

(Kampala, Uganda) Network Team. This project will help me to share my ideas and feelings with others from other parts of the world.

(Brooklyn, USA) Spark Support Team. We are not alone; we are community. We are not powerless; we are empowered. Our common humanity transcends perceived boundaries such as culture, language, religion, and politics.
